Jane Robinson – New Zealand

Askari Wilderness Conservation Programme is run by an energetic, passionate team of people on Pidwa Reserve, a 17500 hectare reserve diverse in animals, birds and flora. I was a second time volunteer and loved my month-long stay just as much as the first time. The accommodation is comfortable, the food is tasty and filling, our duties as a team were easy, our work on the reserve was safe, manual, rewarding and our guide worked along us. We looked forward to the exercise after spending hours spotting the antelopes, lions and eagles in the game viewer. What we learnt from our guides was incredible; tracking animals, plants, snakes, spiders, safety bushcraft etc… And we had fun! With our team, with the staff, with trips to Kruger etc. If you are thinking of booking an African wildlife experience where you learn from the best, book the Askari programme. I leave for home tomorrow and I’m excited but I know in a week I will be wanting to be back here again!
